Visit the original article at http://www.rl-digital.com/2008/wordpress-for-iphone/.

Here’s a preview of the soon to be released WordPress for iPhone application from the team at Automattic. The new application will let you blog and edit articles on your iPhone. It supports WordPress.com blogs as well as self-hosted WordPress blogs running version 2.5.1 or newer.

The application is necessary because blogging using only the iPhone’s Safari browser is nearly impossible because of the keyboard layout. The ability to insert photos into posts directly from the iPhone camera will come in very handy.

The WordPress for iPhone application is Open Source and will be available from the iPhone App store for free.

Especially, the bushed metal back? Try a customized iPhone by ColorWare. ColorWare1 is already known for its high-end laptop and iPod custom paint jobs. Now you can send them your iPhone for a fresh coat of paint and have it back in 8-10 business days. Or, buy a colored version directly from them. Either way, you have a choice of 18 metallic colors or 11 solid colors.

You can pick different colors for the iPhone back, bottom, frame, button, and Apple logo. Even optional ear buds and iPhone dock can be colored. With all the choices, the chances of running into someone with an identical color scheme are slim!

Cool paint jobs are available for other Apple products including iPods, iBooks/MacBooks, Powerbook/MacBook Pro, and Desktops. Be aware that coloring services are not available via international orders.

Visit the original article at http://www.rl-digital.com/2007/blending-an-iphone/.

I must admit. This a great marketing ploy by Utah-based Blendtec. Putting an iPhone in an Total Tabletop Blender. They have set-up and a separate website called WillitBlend and even an eBay auction to sell the ground-up iPhone. The video made it on the front page of Digg within 30 minutes after it was posted.

Previously, Blendtec has destroyed Transformers toys and a can of Easy Cheese. The company said they received special requests to blend an iPhone. Watch Tom Dickson’s now famous video.

My recommendation is to go on over to eBay and get a good deal on a iPhone. But don’t blend it. Enjoy it. One blended iPhone is enough! A blender? Well, get one if you need one.

Copyright © 2012 Robert. Visit the original article at http://www.rl-digital.com/2007/treo-smartphone/.

The most anticipated gadget of the year, Apple’s iPhone, will go on sale on June 29 in Apple [[AAPL]] and AT&T [[T]] stores across America. Analysts are confident Apple will hit its target of selling 10 million phones by the end of next year. I am sure no self-respecting 16-25 year-old will be caught without an iPhone. However, if you’re a professional think again.

The iPhone is a SIM-locked phone1. It only works on AT&T’s GSM network (formerly Cingular)2. If you live in an area where AT&T coverage is weak, you are out-of-luck! What about roaming? Yes, AT&T’s network allows roaming on local GSM networks. However, this service can be very expensive especially internationally.

My overall favorite Smartphone is the Palm Treo 680. It’s available SIM-unlocked, has a full QWERTY keyboard, email client, threaded SMS, and supports a host of 3rd party business applications. You want push email from IMAP accounts – no problem just install BlackBerry Connectâ„¢. The Treo’s changeable lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 4 hours of talk time, and up to 300 hours of standby time. The Treo 680 works on the 850/900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequencies.

Is international roaming really important? According to ZDnet.com, 90% of mobile phone users don’t care about international roaming. I am sure the figure is different for professionals. With a SIM-unlocked Smartphone, you can easily change the SIM card. Local disposable SIM cards are readily available overseas especially in Asia. Just pop one into your Treo Smartphone and you’re all set!

1 Rumors are that Cingular supplies SIM unlock codes on-demand after three months of use. Still, I am sure the Cingular plan has a hefty cancellation fee if you think that’s an easy way to get a SIM-unlocked iPhone.

2 Cingular is one of the smaller mobile network operators. Current estimations suggest that Cingular is the 10th largest mobile network operator in the world, with a subscriber base of approx. 59 million users.
