An Even Simpler DealDotCom Widget

Most WordPress bloggers are using the DealDotCom plugin by BlueFur. It gives you a choice between a static or dynamic image and has a number of styling options. As with all beta software, it still has a few bugs. And, it has not been updated since last September. You can see it running further down on the sidebar.

If you are not using WordPress or just want a basic DealDotCom widget, you can use the free widget (shown here) by Adholic. Just copy & paste the widget code into the HTML source of your website then insert your affiliate ID. You can even make a few styling changes that control the width, font, and border.

Keep in mind that the WordPress widget is running on your server while the Adholic widget is running Adholic’s server. If the Adholic server goes down, the Adholic widget could cause partial loading of your site. However, most ads are run from an external server (ex. AdSense, Adbrite, etc). That said, the Adholic widget has a number of advantages - size, simplicity, more styling options, and it’s JavaScript rather than PHP code.

The widget is inserted here using the AdSenseDeluxe plugin as JavaScripts do not run inside WordPress posts or pages.
